Bounceback Candidates For 2026 Dynasty Fantasy Football: Buy Low On Ladd McConkey

Sam Wallace profiles four bounceback candidates that dynasty fantasy football managers should have their eyes on in 2026.

Bounceback candidates are a hot commodity in the redraft realm of fantasy football, but they also present great buy-low opportunities in dynasty fantasy football. Let's run through my four favorite bounceback candidates for dynasty fantasy football in 2026.

2026 Dynasty Fantasy Football Bounceback Candidates

It's been half a decade since we saw Kyler Murray post consecutive top-six fantasy finishes, but there's ample reason to believe he's a prime candidate to resurrect his dynasty value this upcoming season.

After a tumultuous tenure with the Cardinals, the former No. 1 overall pick heads to Minnesota, where he'll have every opportunity to start Week 1. All he needs to do is beat out J.J. McCarthy, which, if we're being candid, shouldn't be overly challenging.

Injuries have been his biggest challenge in recent seasons. A torn ACL cost him the second half of the 2022 season and the first half of the 2023 season. Just last year, a foot injury limited him to just five games. However, if we thread the needle and look at his 2024 season, we can see some positive takeaways.

2024 was the year Murray was another year removed from his ACL injury, and he played in all 17 games. He posted his second-highest marks in both passing yards (3,851) and rushing yards (572). His five rushing TDs also tied for the second-most in his career. Still just 28 years old, Murray has plenty left in the tank, and now he gets the chance to work with Kevin O'Connell and Justin Jefferson.

Murray may not have ever thrown for 4,000 yards in a single season, but his fantasy value has always been elevated by his rushing ability. I would be very comfortable targeting Murray in dynasty formats this season.

During his 2024 rookie campaign, Ladd McConkey enjoyed a true breakout season. He finished with:

  • 112 targets
  • 82 receptions
  • 1,149 receiving yards
  • 7 TDs
  • 240 PPR points

That type of production was everything dynasty managers could have hoped for and more. Then, the sophomore slump happened, and now we're left wondering which version is the true McConkey. Thankfully, I don't believe there's much reason to be worried. Let's explore why.

First, the single biggest shift from 2024 to 2025 was the return of Keenan Allen. The longtime Charger spent one season in Chicago (2024) before coming back as one of Justin Herbert's favorite targets. Allen's 122 targets led the team, which certainly contributed to McConkey's decrease in overall production.

Now, Allen is a free agent, and there's no guarantee he'll be back in 2026. Even if, for some reason, he does return, he's a depreciating asset. The arrow for McConkey is pointing straight up as he's tied to one of the best QBs and best offensive coordinators (Mike McDaniel) in the league.

For what it's worth, we don't even have Allen in our 2026 NFL player projections. We do have McConkey easily pacing the team in every receiving category and finishing well above 200 PPR points. Don't let a down season get you … down. McConkey is primed to rebound in a big way this upcoming season.

WAS_commanders-logo.svgTerry McLaurin | WR | WAS

Terry McLaurin has played for three offensive coordinators and 13 starting QBs in his seven seasons with the Washington Commanders. Honestly? That makes everything he's done throughout his career even more impressive. At the same time, I can't help but wonder how amazing his career might have been with competent, consistent play at the QB position.

Well, it appears as though the QB question has been answered. Jayden Daniels looks like everything you could want in a franchise signal-caller. With McLaurin seemingly back to full strength and new offensive coordinator David Blough stating that he intends to McLaurin all over, expectations should be high for the 30-year-old veteran.

Before his injury-shortened 2025 campaign, McLaurin was on a five-year run that saw him average:

  • 126 targets
  • 80 receptions
  • 1,092 receiving yards
  • 6.2 TDs
  • 228 PPR points

That's an elite stretch for one of the more talented wideouts in the league. A healthy Daniels/McLaurin and an offensive scheme designed to run through their best player should result in a strong, bounceback season for the seasoned veteran. In fact, our projections have him finishing with more than twice as many points as the next-closest Commanders wideout this fall.

TB_buccaneers-logo.svgChris Godwin | WR | TB

Now a nine-year veteran, Chris Godwin has appeared in just 16 games over the last two seasons. A dislocated ankle back in Week 7 of the 2024 season, coupled with recurring lower leg injuries, cost him the better part of two seasons. However, he appears to be back on track and could be stepping into a productive role this season.

The Buccaneers will no longer have Mike Evans (49ers) at their disposal for the first time since 2013. That leaves Godwin as the elder statesman in a wideout room featuring rising star Emeka Egbuka and young talent in Jalen McMillan, Tez Johnson and newly drafted rookie Ted Hurst.

Egbuka will be the focal point for fantasy managers (both redraft and dynasty), but there's enough evidence to warrant strong consideration for Godwin. Namely, his price will be significantly lower than Egbuka's, which makes Godwin a prime bounceback candidate.

As of this writing, Egbuka is valued as a top-10 dynasty wideout while Godwin currently sits outside the top-60 at the position. However, for dynasty managers looking to add a relatively inexpensive piece to their competing squad, our projections show them finishing quite close to each other this season.

Over the projected 16 games played for both, their difference is a paltry 1.6 points per game (PPR). I will absolutely take Godwin at a massive discount over Egbuka. Now, of course, I'd prefer to roster the younger, more valuable asset, but if you're looking to target an undervalued, inexpensive bounceback player this offseason, Godwin is a prime target for any and all dynasty managers.
